Pembrokeshire Seafood & Seaweed from Coast to Plate
Nestled along the stunning Pembrokeshire coastline, Car-y-Môr is helping shape the future of sustainable Welsh seafood. As Wales’ first community-owned regenerative ocean farm, their work combines fresh local produce, environmental care and a deep connection to the coast, values we are proud to celebrate here at Blas Restaurant.
Who are Car-y-Môr?
Based on the beautiful coastline near St Davids, Car-y-Môr grows and harvests sustainable seafood and seaweed from the clear waters of Pembrokeshire. The company was founded with a focus on supporting local communities while protecting and enhancing the marine environment for future generations.
Their ocean farm produces shellfish and seaweed naturally, without the need for feed, fertilisers or freshwater, making it one of the most sustainable forms of food production available.
What Do They Do?
Car-y-Môr cultivates mussels, oysters, seaweed and cockles in the nutrient-rich waters off the Pembrokeshire coast. Their farming methods work in harmony with nature, helping improve water quality and support marine biodiversity while producing exceptional local ingredients.
The team are passionate about educating visitors and locals alike about regenerative ocean farming and the importance of sustainable seafood. Their work is becoming an increasingly important part of Pembrokeshire’s food story, showcasing the incredible produce available right on our doorstep.
Fresh Pembrokeshire Produce at Blas
At Blas Restaurant, we are proud to work with locally sourced ingredients wherever possible, and Car-y-Môr’s seafood is a wonderful example of the quality produce available in Pembrokeshire.
Their fresh cockles and mussels regularly feature across our menus, bringing the taste of the Welsh coast directly to our diners’ plates. Whether served alongside seasonal vegetables, incorporated into carefully crafted seafood dishes or enjoyed as part of our dining experiences, these ingredients help us celebrate the flavours of Pembrokeshire in every season.
Using locally sourced produce not only supports nearby businesses and growers but also allows our guests to enjoy fresh, high-quality ingredients with a true sense of place.
